Review: The Demon of River Heights by Stefan Petrucha

Nancy Drew, girl detective, is now starring in a graphic novel series written by Petrucha and drawn by Sho Murase. The Demon of River Heights is the first in the series.

This was my first-ever graphic novel! Rather than just cut and paste my review, I hope you don't mind if I send you to my blog, where the full review is posted (here). I gave this light, fast read a B- rating.

Note: If you want me post a full review here, too, just let me know.

I didn't realize there were Nancy Drew graphic novels. I loved Nancy Drew when I was younger, so I'll have to check this out sometime. It appears my library actually has this one (currently out)... I guess they may have a whole new world of Graphic Novels in the YA and J sections! So I should get the chance to get this sometime. Thanks!

Thanks for the review! You have piqued my curiosity :) I had never heard of the series before but now I'm definitely going to look for it just because I want to see Nancy Drew depicted this way! What you mentioned about the coloration is common in comics, but I'm not sure what the reason for it is.

Jenn: thanks for answering my question about coloration. I didn't know if I should mention it in a review or not. I won't from now on.

If they ever do The Bobbsey Twins as a graphic novel, I'm in!

Omg the Bobbsey Twins! Yes, that would be great! They should start turning all my favorite books into graphic novels.
